Blank S1000 disk images

Here are some blank S1000 disk images, for use with an Akai S1000 series sampler.

If you're using a SCSI microSD card drive that shows the filesystems as image files, and you know how to use a Unix clone, you can simply run a variation of dd if=/dev/zero of=60x8.img bs=1M count=480, dd if=/dev/zero of=60x9.img bs=8K count=65535, etc to make an image file the necessary length, then format it on the S1000.

Using this method, I created various S1000 disk images, all formatted and ready to use:

Partitions 30 MB 40 MB 50 MB 60 MB
1 30 MB 40 MB 50 MB 60 MB
2 60 MB 80 MB 100 MB 120 MB
3 90 MB 120 MB 150 MB 180 MB
4 120 MB 160 MB 200 MB 240 MB
5 150 MB 200 MB 250 MB 300 MB
6 180 MB 240 MB 300 MB 360 MB
7 210 MB 280 MB 350 MB 420 MB
8 240 MB 320 MB 400 MB 480 MB
9 270 MB 360 MB 450 MB 512 MB
10 300 MB 400 MB 500 MB
11 330 MB 440 MB 512 MB
12 360 MB 480 MB
13 390 MB 512 MB
14 420 MB
15 450 MB
16 480 MB
17 510 MB
18 512 MB

The single-partition 40 MB image should fit on an SQ400 disk. The two 150 MB options should fit nicely on even the most stringent Mini CD. The largest size possible for an S1000 filesystem is just 8 KB shy of 512 MB, so they all fit comfortably on a regular CD. Indeed, the S1000 CD-ROM was a very popular format of sample CD in the 1990s.
