The Shavian alphabet is the set of letters used to write Shavian English.

As with any alphabet, these letters look slightly different based on the individual handwriting or typeface. See, for example, the differences between the serif Doolittle Garamond and sans-serif Inter Alia.

I've taken the liberty here of replacing the official example words with friendlier alternatives that are hopefully easier to visualise and remember, and somewhat timeless. It turns out I'm not the first person to offer such alternatives,[1] which perhaps shouldn't be surprising, given that the official example words contain some curious and somewhat questionable choices.

Letters 41 - 48 are amalgamations of other letters:

A similar principle is at work within the regular letters, too, combining ๐‘‘ and ๐‘– into ๐‘—, and ๐‘› and ๐‘  into ๐‘ก.
