48 kHz
48 kHz is a popular sample rate. 48,000 is divisible by 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60, making it a good choice for films, PAL video, and monochrome NTSC video, as it can provide an integral number of samples per frame or field.
The Audio Engineering Society's AES-5 standard selects 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, and 48 kHz as the three main standard sample rates. Out of these, 48 kHz is the favoured one.
It's the highest sample rate supported by DAT and MP3.
