μPD650
μPD650 tech specs
- Company: NEC
- Type: Microcontroller
- RAM: 96 N
The μPD650 was a 4-bit microcontroller by NEC.[1][2]
It has 96 nibbles of RAM, and 2000 bytes of ROM.[1] It supports the extended μCOM-4's full instruction set of 80 instructions.
It's pretty impressive that Roland's engineers squeezed enough functionality out of the μPD650 to make entire digital step sequencers.
