Lego theme
Many Lego sets are part of a larger consistent group known as a Lego theme.
The first Lego theme was Town Plan.
Perhaps the most well-known Lego themes were the Legoland ones, namely Town, Castle, Space, and Pirates. Eventually, some of these would even get their own sub-themes.
Outside of Legoland, there's also Trains and Technic.
Even the original, versatile kind of sets was eventually given its own theme name, Basic. This later evolved into Creator.
In the twenty-first century, there are many more themes, some even geared towards adults. These modern themes include Architecture, Icons, Ideas, BrickHeadz, and various licensed franchises.
